After living for nine years in a slum in Kolkata, Father François Laborde of the Prado founded the Howrah South Point (HSP) association in 1976. Since then, it has worked tirelessly to promote human dignity by helping the poorest and people living with disabilities. Seven years ago, Father Laurent Bissara from the Missions Étrangères took over, continuing and renewing the association’s mission with commitment.
Today, HSP continues to expand its scope of action in Bengal and now includes 9 shelters and 11 schools across Howrah, Jalpaiguri, Asansol, and Kolkata.
